Mr. Simbol's funeral

Today I attended one of my best friend's dad's funeral. I have to say, it was quite an experience. it was my first -ever funeral, so I didn't really know what to expect. My friends and I went through some trouble to get out of school in time, but luckily we did (and it was after I took my AP Human Geography test (: ). The only thing I anticipated was a lot of crying, and yes, there were many tears shed.

I think I was actually one of the first in the audience to start crying. Victoria, Jarick's sister/ Mr. Simbol's daughter was the first to speak, and she barely uttered 2 sentences before I started to cry. Her speech was very moving and well-written and articulated and I think she did the best job she could have done. There were a couple more speeches by Mr. Simbol's siblings, and then some singing and prayers in the church.

The funeral procession then moved on to the cemetery, where 70+ cars were escorted by the police to Forest Lawn, where there was the burial. I honestly had never seen or heard the kinds of cries I did today. The agony was so pure, I'm sure the entire audience was teary. People were allowed to take a flower from the bouquet to lay over the casket and touch it for the last time.

Everyone was invited to attend a reception at the Double Tree Hotel, where there was yummy food. :3 Everyone was much more relaxed there, and I think many had a good time. It was nice.

Derek and I went over to Jarick's house after everything and we had an adventure to Tofu House & had dinner together too. yay! <3 you harry (:
